Kinvara Balfour understands the worlds of tech and popular culture.
Balfour has advised and directed the launch of several technology start-ups in the UK and USA and is currently developing a docu-series about creative visionaries and mavericks, filmed with the iPhone. She has also been tasked with directing the launch of new social media platform Polaroid Swing, heralding the next trend in digital imagery - an Instagram-style image that moves or 'Swings'.
As of 2014, she hosts Fashion in Conversation for Apple Inc., an exclusive series of interviews with creative icons at the Apple stores in London and New York which is available to a global audience of over 900 million on iTunes.
Kinvara has had roles at Condé Nast and the Telegraph Magazine, where she was Style Editor. In 2004, Kinvara was appointed London Editor, and then Senior International Editor, for US web phenomenon DailyCandy.com. Kinvara launched the brand to mass acclaim.
In 2014, she was appointed Founding Partner of tech start-up Style-Card, and in the same year, she was invited to help launch the AOL BUILD Speaker Series in NYC. In 2016 Balfour acted as Digital Consultant for Vanity Fair UK, directing the publication’s online content and Instagram platform.
In 2014, she was one of the few women invited to speak at President Obama’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit, and in 2015, she spoke at the Access Leadership Conference with a range of global speakers including Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak.
Kinvara is currently directing the launch of new Silicon Valley start-up Polaroid Swing, with a team lead by Chairman, Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone. In addition, she is directing ‘The Visionaries’, a series of iPhone films about the true visionaries of the world which will air online in 2017.
