Mani Shankar Aiyar is an Indian Politician, diplomat and author. He is presently a member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of External Affairs and a member of the Parliamentary Forum on Disaster Management.
Mani Shankar Aiyyar was an Indian National Congress party MP from 1991 to 1996, from 1998 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2009, speaking to the Mayiladuthurai supporters. He additionally served in Dr. Manmohan Singh's administration as Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas from 2004 to 2006 and as Minister for Youth and Sports from 2006 to 2009. He was also the primary Minister for the Development of the North East Region and filled in as Minister of Panchayati Raj, supervising decentralization and nearby administration in India.
