Jonathan Tepper is founder of Variant Perception, a macroeconomic research group that works with asset managers. Tepper also co-founded Demotix, a citizen-journalism website and photo agency that takes photographs from freelance journalists and amateurs and markets them to the mainstream media. Demotix was sold in 2012 to Corbis, a company owned by Bill Gates.
Tepper is the author of NY Times bestseller The Myth of Capitalism: Monopolies and the Death of Competition. He also wrote Endgame: The End of the Debt Supercycle, and Code Red, a book on unconventional monetary policy.
Earlier in his career, Tepper worked as an equity analyst at SAC Capital and as a Vice President in proprietary trading at Bank of America.
Jonathan Tepper earned a BA with Highest Honours in History and Honours in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a M.Litt. in Modern History from Oxford University. He is a Rhodes Scholar and Chairman of the Rhodes Scholars in the UK.
