Smart Cities aim to utilize technology to improve services and make the city as a whole more efficient. From monitoring traffic lights, garbage trucks and available parking spaces to social and environmental issues, the term Smart City covers a lot. With more than two-thirds of the world’s population expected to live in cities by 2050, finding ways to make cities work better for the people who live in them has become a priority.

On the surface, Smart Cities make logical sense. They harness the available data and use that to improve the standard of living. However there are issues surrounding the data collected, how it is stored and what it is ultimately used for. In Toronto, for example, the 12-acre Quayside project (a partnership between Google’s Sidewalk Labs and the city of Toronto), has come under increased scrutiny amid concerns over privacy and data harvesting.

We have a range of keynote speakers to answer your questions and shed more light on this every growing use of data. They include Smart City and urbanisation experts, politicians, authors and futurists. All will offer insightful talks into what we can expect to see in our future cities.

Below we have a number of our most requested keynote speakers, but if you have someone particular in mind please don’t hesitate to contact our team to find out more.
