Chetna Makan – Keynote Speaker

Previously a fashion designer before she came over to the UK, Chetna Makan oozes creative flair whatever the task at hand.

Settling down with her husband in the UK, as her family grew, Chetna became a stay at home mum of two. As her children grew older, she began to experiment and become more adventurous with her new bakes and techniques.

Sharing her love of baking with her friends and family, Chetna Makan was soon convinced to apply to the BAFTA award winning show, The Great British Bake Off, having received such positive responses from those who tried her food. She made it to the semi-final of the hit show, beating off many of the show’s favourites. She won the hearts of the nation with her weekly experimentations and demonstrations of her expertise flavor combinations and fancy baking skills.

Since leaving the show, Chetna’s love of baking lives on with the mother of two continuing to create masterpieces for family, friends and charities. She has been commissioned to create recipes for Jamie Oliver, Standard Issue and Foodnetwork among others.
