Destiny Ayo Vaughan is a TEDx speaker and award‑winning social entrepreneur who works at the intersection of technology, innovation, and social impact. A scholarship recipient and recent graduate of the University of Aberdeen, she holds an MSc in Psychological Studies and a Bachelor’s Honours degree in Social Science, and has completed a Level Five qualification in Early Childhood Education. Destiny was later awarded a scholarship to pursue a master’s in Clinical Health Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast.
In 2019, she founded Mind the Gap Ireland (MTGI), the country’s first anonymous story‑sharing platform for survivors of sexual violence. Provides a safe network that supports hundreds of people each year. In 2025, MTGI won the Tech and Innovation Award at the Eir Women of the Year Awards.
Destiny’s leadership in social entrepreneurship has been recognised through selection for the 2023 Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Ideas Academy and the SheGenerates programme for women founders. She served as a delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) and has been featured in Dr Sam Collins’s book Rebellious. Her honours include Activist of the Year at the Black and Irish Gala Awards, inclusion in the Irish Independent’s “50 Ones to Watch” (2023), and a Goss.ie Women of the Year nomination, and a 2026 award from The Shona Project.
