David Clutterbuck is one of the world’s leading “pracademics” in the fields of leadership, coaching, mentoring, teaming, talent management and Human Resources.
Author or co-author of some 80 books (not counting his children’s stories), he is renowned for both being one of the most innovative thinkers in the field and for making complex topics accessible to a wide spread of audiences. He coined the term ‘simplexity’ to describe the art of making the complex simple but not simplistic. His presentations are characterised by humour (he trained as a stand-up comedian and now chairs the research committee at the London School of Comedy) and by a passion for evidence-based practice that leads him to challenge widely-held assumptions, “HR bling” and superficial consultancy models.
David Clutterbuck co-founded the main professional body in coaching and mentoring, now EMCC-Global, and is distinguished research fellow at The Conference Board and a chartered companion of the CIPD. He works with some of the world’s largest companies, helping them to shift from linear thinking to complex, adaptive systems thinking. His current interests include how leaders and coaches can form partnerships with Artificial Intelligence – and a project to create 5 million school-age coaches and mentors globally.
