Louise Mabulo – Keynote Speaker

Louise Mabulo is a culinary visionary and environmental advocate.

Growing up she developed a deep appreciation for locally sourced, organic produce. She soon recognized the importance of sustainable farming practises and set out to promote them through her culinary skills. Aged 12 she was a finalist in the reality cooking show Junior MasterChef Philippines, throughout which she reinforced the significance of responsibly sourced produce.

At the age of 18, Louise Mabulo founded “The Cacao Project”, an initiative aimed at teaching farmers in her region how to grow cacao sustainably, focusing on preserving biodiversity and the environment. Through this project, Louise Mabulo has helped to combat deforestation, revive water sources, reverse agricultural yields, and provide a livelihood for a community. To date, the project has helped more than 200 farmers plant over 100,000 trees, restoring over 100 hectares of collective land.

Louise Mabulo hosts the cooking show ‘Simply Sarap’, promoting cultural diplomacy under the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines. Additionally, she is a host for #GenGeo Conversations under the National Geographic Society, as well as the documentary series NatGeo Presents: Earth Day Stories: Diet vs. Planet.

In recognition of her environmental stewardship and sustainable farming achievements, Mabulo has received countless accolades including Young Champion of the Earth under the United Nations Environment Programme, Young Activists Summit Laureate, featured honoree of Forbes Asia’s 30 under 30, honoree of Tatler’s ‘Generation T’, and one of the World’s 50 Next Game-changing Producers listed by the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awarding Body. She is also a member of the UN Women 30 for 2030 Network, a National Geographic Young Explorer, and the youngest member of Disciples des Escoffier Philippines.
