Founded in 2014, Cybraics commercialized many years of DARPA research performed on the Network Defense program. The goal of the Network Defense program was intrusion detection and distributed computation using unsupervised machine learning and behavioral analytics. Heimann was also a performer on DARPA’s Nexus 7 program (including remote support at ISAF attached to the 82nd Airborne Division) which won a Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
Heimann is the former Chief Data Scientist and Technical Fellow at L-3 National Security Solutions, former adjunct professor at University of Maryland where he taught computational statistics and statistical reasoning, and an instructor at George Mason University, where he taught computational social science.
