After disappointing news that CO2 levels had gone up for the first time after 3 years of plateauing, and the USA being the last country to join the Paris agreement in the midst of a resurgence of climate change denial, climate has been stealing global headlines for all the wrong reasons. After a historic Atlantic storm season, climate change monitoring has become more important than ever before as have the forecasting of the effects on sea level change and what this means for global populations and ecosystems. Although there are plenty of challenges facing scientists, governments and businesses when it comes to climate, it's not all bad news. Huge leaps forward  have been made in fossil fuel disinvestment, green tech innovation continues at a frantic pace and changes in Chinese energy policy has seen renewable investment on a whole new scale.
