Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE is a leading political journalist and prominent media commentator on both TV and radio. A former politician himself, he is currently Associate Editor and Political Columnist for The Times.
He joined The Times in 2001 and worked his way up to the leader columns to become Executive Editor. Before joining the paper, he was Director of the Conservative Party’s Research Department and an adviser to both Prime Minister John Major and Conservative leader William Hague.
Previous to this, he was Director of the think tank the Social Market Foundation. He was also the Chairman of the Policy Exchange, an independent charity seeking free market and ‘localist’ solutions to public policy questions. Daniel was elevated to the House of Lords in August 2013.
Finkelstein has been named Political Columnist of the Year four times at the Editorial Intelligence Comment Awards.
