After studying Economics at university, Hersch began a career in arts management. Meanwhile, he also moonlighted as a comic on the London circuit. Subsequently, in 1992, he relinquished his job as touring manager of the London Festival Orchestra to join the world of professional comedy.

Twenty-four years later, this rare training in combining laughter with music has kept him in continual demand. Moreover, he has developed a considerable reputation as a broadcaster and presenter for the BBC. Rainer Hersch has closed the show some of the world’s most famous comedy clubs and has made numerous programmes for BBC Radio 4 and Classic FM. His YouTube Clips have had over 30 million views worldwide.
