Biography

Reese Wong is a 20-year-old award-winning changemaker, community-builder and speaker.

At age 16, he founded ISSIA, Hong Kong’s largest youth-led nonprofit. The organization empowers changemakers through project-based learning. Since 2019, ISSIA has involved 300+ volunteers from 80+ schools, launched 30+ projects around the Sustainable Development Goals and has been featured on Nasdaq and major city-wide publications throughout Hong Kong.

As an international speaker, Reese has spoken to 4000+ attendees at 60+ engagements, including global conferences (e.g. World Humanitarian Forum, Asia Pacific International Schools Conference, Kuala Lumpur Global Youth Summit) and leading international schools. He regularly covers topics including the future of education, social entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, personal branding and community-building.

Reese Wong previously worked as a Communications Consultant for Ashoka, the world’s leading community of social entrepreneurs. He was also the Community Manager at the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He has since consulted for ed-tech startups, created content for the UAE Ministry of Education and interned for the U.S. State Department, Linklaters and other major firms. He is also pursuing his undergraduate degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics (LSE) and leads the university’s most active society: LSESU Entrepreneurs.

Reese Wong is currently the Founder and CEO of Micromeetup – a social startup that aims to reduce the barriers for connecting in the real world through community-based microevents and ‘triggers’.

As a social impact champion, Reese has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and one of WEF’s youngest Vice Curators, Future Minds 25 Under 25 Awardee, Member of Catalyst 2030 and was recently appointed as a Young Fellows Advisory Board Member at the Royal Society of Arts in London.
