Roger Ballentine is the Founder and President of Green Strategies Inc., a strategic environmental and energy consulting firm and a Venture Partner with Arborview Capital LLC, a private equity firm making growth capital investments in the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors.
Previously, Roger was a senior member of the White House staff, serving President Bill Clinton as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force and Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental Initiatives. Roger is also the co-founder of American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and a Member of the International Advisory Council of the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Roger currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Perillon Software Inc., Paragon Airheater Technologies, Inc., and Energy Automation Systems, Inc., as well as on the Advisory Boards of Gridpoint, C3, Inflection Point Capital, and the Association of Rare Earth (RARE). Roger also serves on the Selection Committee for the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Zayed Future Energy Prize and is the Co-Chair of the Aspen Institute’s Clean Energy Forum.
As President of Green Strategies Inc., Ballentine assists clients with domestic and international public policy matters, investment guidance, marketing and business development strategies, and capital formation in the areas of energy, environment, and sustainability. He advises and represents businesses, associations, government agencies, and non-profit entities on domestic and international public policy issues and business strategies, focusing on energy and environmental matters for the company. Mr. Ballentine advises clients such as Wal-Mart, General Electric and Chevron/Texaco on their alternative energy initiatives, Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts & Co. and Texas Pacific Group on the TXU Corp. buyout, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., American Electric Power Co., Inc. and General Electric Company. He was also a Partner at Patton, Boggs L.L.P.
A frequent speaker and media commentator, Roger Ballentine is a well-known clean energy expert and has been a Lecturer in the area of energy and climate policy at the Harvard Law School and a Senior Fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington D.C.
