Jean Gomes is a New York Times best-selling author and advisor to hundreds of CEOs, helping to solve their greatest challenges using the new science of mindset. His research and practice centres on creating More Human organisations, harnessing the latest findings in neuroscience and experimental psychology. In his most recent book, Leading in a Non-Linear World, he explores a new approach to embracing uncertainty by building mindsets for the future. The team at his research-based consultancy, Outside, works with a community of scientists to develop simple and powerful strategies to transform wellbeing, leadership, and organisational agility. He is co-host of the popular podcast, The Evolving Leader.
Since April 2024, Jean has been Professor of Practice at UCL Global Business School for Health. As the world’s first business school dedicated to health, it brings together the best minds in business and healthcare, all motivated to solve some of the biggest challenges in healthcare. Jean has lectured at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, INSEAD’s LEAP leadership programme and The Henley Business School. With over 30 years’ experience, Jean has coached over 100 CEOs and senior leaders. He has worked with clients around the world including Google, BBVA, Nike, Coca-Cola, Condé Nast, eBay, GE, Microsoft, IMI, Halma, Sky, Pfizer, Sony, Schneider Electric, The Bank of England, Standard Life Investments, Alexander McQueen, Sound Cloud, Stella McCartney, BMW, Warner Music, TikTok and Toyota. He has worked extensively in elite sport including being a performance coach to the board of the Women’s Tennis Association, helping to create a new leadership strategy for the British Olympic community over the past two Olympic cycles and coaches the leadership of the Lawn Tennis Association. In 2020, he worked with leadership of the Wimbledon Championships to develop their future strategy. Other sports clients include various Olympic teams and Manchester City Football Club.
Jean Gomes co-authored the New York Times bestseller, The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working, with Tony Schwartz. In 1997, Jean co-founded the think tank, HumanITy, a UK charity that advised government and NGOs on issues of social exclusion and technology for over 20 years.
