Biography

Juan Carlos Baumgartner was born in Mexico City and graduated as an Architect from prestigious Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). He studied Art History at Berkeley University (California) and Industrial Design at Domus Academy (Milan). Recently graduated from IUAV University (Venice) with a master degree in Cognitive Neuroscience.

Founder and CEO of spAce Architecture, leading firm specialized in Corporate, Hospitality and Educational design in Mexico and LatinAmerica. More than 4 million square meters designed in 20 countries around the world and 150 international awards, makes spAce a unique firm with a interdisciplinary focus and amazing experience and an Atellier touch. Baumgartner, pioneer of the NeuroArchitecture discipline, is an experienced speaker with a couple of Ted Talks, lectures in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America, with an array of topics like “Architecture and Sustainable Design”, “The Design Revolution”,Design for Happiness” and “NeuroArchitecture”.

Juan Carlos Baumgartner was named by Forbes Mexico as a “Top creative Mexican in the world”, and made several times the “300 Mexican Leaders” list. He is considered not only a successful architect and designer, but also a visionary and futurist professional, published recently his book “Office as a Tribe”.
