Professional Big Wave Surfer, Matt Bromley chases storms for a living, surfing some of the largest waves on the planet. 8x cover boy of various local and international surf magazines, 2x South African Surfing Captain and enthusiastic storyteller, Matt’s passion is to empower people and their businesses to ride their big wave.

Matt started surfing at the age of 6 where he enjoyed competing in smaller waves, which complemented his conservative, risk-averse nature. It wasn’t until the age of 17 where he had a near drowning experience at the infamous wave called “Dungeons”, followed by the wave of his life, where the passion for big wave surfing was ignited.

Since then, Matt has become a global athlete for Monster Energy and has surfed in storms with waves the height of a 7 story building, almost 25 metres high. He has carved out a living from surfing some of the biggest waves in the world and creating films and media content, including his latest movie, “Over the Edge” featured on iTunes, Amazon Prime and all major pay-per-view platforms.

As a big wave surfer and storm chaser, Matt has the most front row seat to fear, challenges and storms. He has found that “Our best moments are on the other side of fear”, and therefore decides to go into the storm to find his big wave. In his presentation, Matt shows how everyone has their big waves to ride and with the help of practical tools and inspiring stories, he empowers people and businesses to thrive in their storms.
