In her former life, she was an international foreign correspondent and director working in Syria,Zimbabwe, Italy and beyond. She’s filed for global broadcasters including BBC World News, CNBC, SBS Dateline, Channel 7, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
In 2017, she travelled to Damascus for Dateline to produce a World Exclusive interview with Bashar Al Assad, which was nominated for a 2017 Logies Award. Meggie’s dodged falling buildings in Nepal during the 2015 earthquake, investigated the justice system for teenagers sent to Rikers Island in New York and has uncovered corruption and money laundering in Papua New Guinea.
She’s been awarded multiple times for her work in journalism including a Walkley Award, a New York Festival TV & Film Award, a UN Media Award and was named Queensland Young Journalist of the Year.
A serial entrepreneur, her first business was Sliding Door Media, a company that trains Executives from across the world to harness the power of story to communicate like superstars.
Meggie Palmer sits on several not for profit boards and is a passionate volunteer lifesaver and proud member of The Wing. She really, really loves pasta & challenges anyone to beat her in a spaghetti Bolognese eating competition!
