Biography

Paul Dickinson is the Founder of Transition Value Partners, where he advises boards and C-suite leaders on maximising shareholder value through transition, with a particular focus on policy advocacy, also called ‘Geo-System Strategy’™. Through Transition Value Partners, Paul Dickinson conducts climate governance reviews for major organisations, including the Group Board of NatWest.

Paul Dickinson is also the Founder and Strategic Advisor to CDP, the global climate change reporting system. He founded CDP in 2000 with the ambition of creating a global economic system that operates within sustainable environmental boundaries and prevents dangerous climate change. Today, 22,000 corporations, representing around 60% of the global economy, report annually through CDP, making it a critical platform for measuring and managing environmental impact.

As a leading voice on climate change, Paul Dickinson co-hosts the global podcast Outrage + Optimism alongside Dame Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac. The show, which has achieved over 7 million downloads, explores the key political, business and societal issues shaping the net zero transition.

In addition to his work on climate and the energy transition, Paul Dickinson is examining the growing impact of artificial intelligence. He has developed FunnAi, a comedy podcast series designed to tackle major issues emerging from machine intelligence in a quirky, engaging and easily digestible format.

Paul Dickinson chairs Mitchell & Dickinson, a company that has insulated more than 2,000 period properties to improve energy efficiency. He is the author of several publications, including the book Beautiful Corporations, published in 2000 by Financial Times Prentice Hall, which introduced the concept of sustainability product marketing – now an increasingly important force in contemporary commerce.

Paul Dickinson is former Chair of the Trustees of the NGO ShareAction and an advisor to the NGO InfluenceMap. He also serves on the sustainability advisory boards of enterprise software platforms Workiva and Persefoni. In 2023, Paul Dickinson was named on the TIME100 Climate list, recognising his long-standing leadership and influence in global climate action.
