Sue Turner is a globally recognised expert in AI ethics and data governance, ranked among the world’s Top 100 Women in AI Ethics. She empowers organisations to harness the power of AI responsibly, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and ethical application. One of the first 14 people globally accredited in the Independent Audit of AI systems, Sue brings a unique blend of legal expertise (Law degree) and technical understanding (MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science).
Sue’s presentations provide practical, actionable insights that help leaders harness the power of AI with wisdom and integrity. Her audiences are inspired by learning how to identify opportunities to use AI, mitigate risks, build trust in AI systems and unlock the full potential of AI while upholding ethical principles.
In 2020, Sue founded AI Governance Limited, advising businesses and policymakers on navigating the complex landscape of AI, data ethics and governance for positive societal impact. Her experience spans entrepreneurial ventures and non-profits, where she has a proven track record of driving organisational growth, raising significant funding (including £27 million for charity) and championing social justice.
Beyond her consultancy, Sue serves as Board Chair and Non-Executive Director for purpose-driven businesses in regulated industries and as a mentor on the Alan Turing Institute’s Skills Policy Awards. Her commitment to social impact has been recognised with an OBE in 2021 for Services to Social Justice.
