Andreas Schierenbeck has led the transformation of Uniper. As co-founder and board member, he now wants to turn the hydrogen start-up HH2E into one of the largest producers of green hydrogen in Germany.
Andreas Schierenbeck (*1966) holds an MSc in electrical engineering from the University of Dresden and an Advanced Management Certificate from Harvard, USA. His management career began in 1992 at Siemens, where he held various management positions in Germany and abroad until 2012, including Head of the Building Technologies North and South America Division. From 2013 to 2018, he served as CEO of ThyssenKrupp Elevator, transforming the company into the innovation leader of a global industry. At the same time, he achieved the best profitability ever. When ThyssenKrupp Elevator was sold for €17.2 billion, it was one of the largest acquisitions ever in Europe. In 2019, the top manager was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Uniper SE. Under his leadership, Uniper launched a new strategy to promote energy development in early 2020 and introduced initiatives in the field of renewable energies. In 2021, Schierenbeck left Uniper with the goal of becoming carbon neutral in Europe by 2035.
Since 2021 he has been co-founder and member of the board of HH2E AG, with which he aims to boost the production of green hydrogen on an industrial scale.
In his lectures, Andreas Schierenbeck talks about the energy transition in a practical and far-sighted manner and shows that there are already solutions or paths for many problems.
