David Lloyd has built on his career in sport to become an entrepreneur and one of UK’s leading personal name brands.
David’s younger years saw him travel internationally as a young tennis player, often sleeping rough to get his way around the circuits. Success came pairing with his brother John Lloyd in the doubles tournaments.

David Lloyd founded the sport and leisure clubs and sold out to Whitbread for £200 million in 1995. In 2007, the business sold again for £925 million pounds to Versailles Bidco, the private equity firm London & Regional Holdings and Bank of Scotland.
