About Tom Bradby
Tom Bradby is a novelist, screenwriter and journalist. As a broadcaster, he is best known as the anchor of ITV’s News at Ten and presenter of ITV’s overnight election and referendum programmes. In his first year in the role, he was named Network Presenter of the Year by the Royal Television Society. He has been with ITN for thirty years, serving successively as Ireland Correspondent, Political Correspondent, Asia Correspondent (during which time he was shot and seriously injured whilst covering a riot in Jakarta), Royal Correspondent, UK Editor and Political Editor – a position he held for a decade – before becoming the anchor of News at Ten in 2015.
His bestselling thrillers include his debut, Shadow Dancer, The Master of Rain, The White Russian, The God of Chaos, Blood Money, Secret Service, Double Agent, Triple Cross and Yesterday’s Spy. The Master of Rain was shortlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association Steel Dagger for Thriller of the Year, while The White Russian and The God of Chaos were shortlisted for the CWA Historical Crime Novel of the Year. Shadow Dancer was later adapted into a film starring Clive Owen, Gillian Anderson and Andrea Riseborough, for which Tom wrote the screenplay. His script was nominated for Screenplay of the Year at the Evening Standard Film Awards.
His 2026 novel, Red Scorpion, is a standalone thriller set against the dangerous world of Colombian drug cartels. It follows Dr Laura Strong, whose attempt to escape financial hardship through a seemingly extraordinary opportunity draws her into a world of danger, family secrets and moral dilemmas.
