About Mykhailo Fedorov
Mykhailo Fedorov is a Ukrainian public official, entrepreneur, and one of the principal architects of Ukraine’s digital transformation. In 2019, at the age of 28, he became the youngest minister in Ukraine’s history when he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation.
As head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov drove an ambitious programme to digitise public services, modernise state infrastructure, and build a more open, technology-driven government. Under his leadership, Ukraine became widely recognised as a pioneer in digital governance and citizen-focused e-services.
Following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov shifted his focus decisively towards defence technology. He championed the use of digital tools, data, and innovation to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and military capabilities, forging closer cooperation between the technology sector, civil society, and the Defence Forces.
In January 2026, Mykhailo Fedorov was appointed Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
