Sabina Jeschke is a former member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Bahn AG from November 2017 to May 2021 and was responsible for “Digitalisation and Technology”. She holds a doctorate in physics and is an expert in artificial intelligence and robotics.
After studying physics, computer science and mathematics and earning her doctorate in physics at TU Berlin, as well as research stays at NASA’s AMES Research Center in California and at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Sabina Jeschke was appointed Junior Professor for New Media at TU Berlin in 2005. After professorships at RWTH Aachen, the University of Stuttgart and TU Berlin, she moved to the business world in 2017 and became a board member at Deutsche Bahn AG. Her operational areas there include the strategic orientation and management of group-wide digitalisation and technology development. Cyber security concepts are just as much a part of her remit as technical innovations.
Sabina Jeschke is extensively involved in the field of start-ups/entrepreneurship, founding companies herself such as JeZorn GmbH, a start-up for web technologies and web portal developments, and supporting students in founding their own companies as part of her honorary professorship at TU Berlin.
She holds various supervisory board mandates, including at Schenker AG, and is chairwoman of the supervisory boards of DB Systel GmbH, DB FZI GmbH and DB Systemtechnik GmbH. In 2014 she was a visiting professor at HKUST in Hong Kong and in 2016 at SUTD in Singapore. She is also an honorary professor at RWTH Aachen University and at the Technical University of Berlin.
She has already received numerous awards for her work, including the 2014 “Germany’s Digital Minds” award from the Gesellschaft für Informatik. In 2019, Sabina was recognised by LinkedIn as one of the top ten influencers in the German-speaking world. With over 60,000 followers, she is one of the network’s 50 most influential authors in the German-speaking world.
She is a member of numerous boards and commissions and in 2020, Sabina became a member of the Board of the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce.
