Ghassan Karian was educated in London and received a BSc. in Management and Marketing at King’s College, University of London.
Ghassan started his career as a political campaigns manager for the British Labour Party (1996-1998) during the General Election that say Tony Blair become Prime Minister. He subsequently worked as Head off Media Relations for Saatchi & Saatchi’s PR agency, Rowland Communications.
For just under 10 years, he led employee engagement, culture transformation and leadership communications for British Gas and Rolls-Royce. As Rolls-Royce Director of Internal Communications and Engagement, Ghassan advised the CEO Sir John Rose and the Executive team on their leadership communications.
At British Gas, he led one of the largest business transformations in the UK, focused on structural, portfolio, product and cultural change. He crafted the culture change and engagement strategy – and led the 100+ team that drove implementation of the related plan.
Ghassan founded Karian and Box in 2006 and grew it to become the UK’s leading employee engagement and culture change agency – specializing in related employee research, culture diagnostics, and major culture change strategy as well as during Merger and Acquisition processes. In that capacity, Ghassan has led on the work to refresh the Adecco Group values, the McDonalds EVP, the re-shaping and the roll-out of a new purpose, culture and values for businesses such as BP, Lloyds Banking Group and HSBC.
Ghassan Karian now heads the global Ipsos business specializing in employee engagement and culture, providing C-suite advise to businesses as diverse as Aviva, British Airways, Diageo and Nestle.
