About Shirine Khoury-Haq
Shirine Khoury-Haq is the first female CEO of the Co-op Group, the world’s largest consumer co-operative with more than 2,500 stores across the UK. A transformational leader with deep experience in retail, insurance and financial services, she is known for delivering sustainable performance improvements in complex, highly regulated environments.
Shirine Khoury-Haq joined the Co-op Group in 2019 following a senior career that included serving as Chief Operating Officer of Lloyd’s of London. At Co-op she led a dramatic financial turnaround, cutting debt from £920 million to £55 million, growing profit by 30%, and increasing membership to 7.3 million. She has overseen major programmes in digital transformation, operational efficiency and customer experience, while maintaining the organisation’s distinctive ethical and community focus.
