Subroto Bagchi is an entrepreneur, business leader and writer. He is the chairman and co-founder of Mindtree Ltd., a $435 million global IT solutions company. Mindtree is a strategic partner to over 40 Fortune 500 enterprises, and is listed on the National Stock Exchange, and the Bombay Stock Exchange in India.
Bagchi started as the Chief Operating Officer at Mindtree, after its inception in 1999. He was instrumental in articulating Mindtree’s mission, vision and values. He directed the leadership development, marketing, and knowledge management initiatives, which differentiated the company from the very beginning.
In 2007, he was part of the apex team that led Mindtree from an idea to IPO. Post-IPO, Bagchi assumed the role of ‘Gardener’ at Mindtree, focusing full-time on the top 100 leaders at Mindtree, with a goal to expand the firm’s leadership capacity beyond the founding team. In 2010, he was appointed Vice Chairman to the Board, and in 2012 he assumed the office of Chairman.
