Biography

Michael de Kare-Silver is a leading advisor on e-business and the Internet, heralded by the 2013 IDM review as ‘one of the world’s top marketers’. Today he runs his own firm providing digital strategy consultancy and support across the EU and US. Working as a consultant for much of his career, his past clients have included Astra Zeneca, ICI, Brooks Brothers, Nestle and CGNU.

 

His wealth of experience is exemplified in his work as an author. His past works include the best-selling ‘Strategy in Crisis’ and ‘e-shock 2000’. His most recent book, ‘Digital Insights 2020’, examines how the technological revolution is shaping 21st century business.

 

He was a main board director at FTSE Top 50 company GUS (Great Universal Stores), in addition to heading up websites for Argos, Experian and Burberry. He has also worked as an MD at major digital marketing agencies such as Digitas and AKQA.

 

Michael de Kare-Silver began his career with the law firm Slaughter and May in London. Having read law at Cambridge University, he then went on to qualify as a commercial lawyer, working on a number of mergers and acquisitions transactions. After two years he then joined Proctor and Gamble, working in sales, marketing and branding management. It is from here that he made his move into consultancy.
