Biography

About Adrian Hayes

Adrian Hayes is a British extreme adventurer, keynote speaker, leadership and team coach and consultant, social commentator, author and documentary presenter. His work combines thought leadership, critical thinking and unique lived experiences to offer distinctive insights into human development, leadership, business, society, culture and the natural world.

An Arabic and Nepalese-speaking former British Army Gurkha officer, who also spent two years in a Special Forces regiment, Adrian’s adventuring achievements include climbing the three highest mountains in the world – Everest, K2 and Kanchenjunga – trekking from the respective coasts to both Poles, skiing the length of Greenland and crossing the Arabian Desert, as part of an ongoing life of expeditions and adventure. These have earned him two Guinness World Records, led to two published books and a third due, and seen him present or feature in three documentaries to date.

A former Airbus Middle East sales director, Adrian’s primary professional work for the past 20 years has been as a global speaker, leadership and team-development specialist, executive coach, consultant and mentor, delivering keynotes, seminars, programmes and workshops worldwide.

As a social commentator, he is a regular panellist and interviewee on British and Australian television, speaking on leadership, current and international affairs, society, culture and human behaviour and performance. He is also a patron of three international charities and involved with several other causes and campaigns, including many years of speaking and writing on economic, social and environmental sustainability.

Adrian has presented or featured in three documentaries to date: The Greenland Quest for the National Geographic Channel, Footsteps of Thesiger and In Inner Mongolia for the Discovery Channel, with further documentary projects in development. His first book, Footsteps of Thesiger, was published in 2013, followed by One Man’s Climb: A Journey of Trauma, Tragedy and Triumph on K2 in 2019.

His third book, detailing his solo descent and survival on Kanchenjunga in May 2025 and the physical and psychological aftermath, is scheduled for release in 2027. A fourth book, exploring human development in the modern world, is planned to follow.
