– “We are the most complex species on the planet. We have complete control of our future -and we are the quickest to jeopardise it.”

The Art of Interviewing
– The most powerful interviews aren’t about the interviewer.
– Listening is critical. Ask questions that guide, not lead. Sometimes, silence and a look are more powerful than a question.
– Allow people the space to speak and be heard. Often, they need to offload.

Journalistic Integrity
– It’s about telling stories as you found them.
– Each team member may experience events differently; those perspectives matter.
– PTSD, emotional toll, and ethical questions are very real in the line of work. It’s important to advocate for mental health – both at home and in the workplace.

Teamwork
– Every film is a team effort. The individuals behind the camera are as vital as those in front.

Since 2006, Ross Kemp has built a formidable reputation as a fearless documentary maker. Inspired by a brief encounter with a member of the infamous Bloods gang in California, he pitched the idea for Ross Kemp on Gangs to Sky. The series, which took him deep inside criminal networks around the world, won a BAFTA for Best Factual Series and cemented his status as a powerful and authentic storyteller.
After producing 27 programmes in the Ross Kemp on Gangs franchise, he went on to front Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, embedding with army regiments including 1 Royal Anglian, 5 Scots, 1 Royal Irish and 45 Commando between 2007 and 2012. In 2025, Ross Kemp returned to the role of Grant Mitchell to mark the 40th anniversary of EastEnders and fronted the companion documentary EastEnders: 40 Years on the Square for BBC1. He is also the host of the popular BBC1 quiz show Bridge of Lies and its celebrity spin-off.
