Ashish Hemrajani is the CEO and co-Founder of Bigtree Entertainment Pvt.Ltd, which operates BookMyShow, India’s largest online entertainment ticketing platform. BookMyShow offers tickets for movies, plays, concerts, sports games and live events.
Under Hemrajani’s leadership Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd survived the dotcom bust in 2001, managing to do so by selling the Vista ticketing software and providing back-end ticketing services to cinema theatres. In 2007, seeing the growth in multiplexes and the increased debit and credit card penetration in the country, Hemrajani launched BookMyShow. He foresaw consumers in India favouring mobile over computers and decided to launch the BookMyShow mobile App, giving himself an early movers advantage.
Under Hemrajani’s leadership, BookMyShow has expanded its operations to included New Zealand, UAE, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
