Born and raised in Mauritius, a vibrant island in the Indian Ocean, Asha was immersed in a multicultural environment that shaped her into a global citizen.
With fluency in English, French, Hindi, Mauritian Creole, and some Italian, her diverse upbringing set the stage for her academic and professional journey. She was educated in the British system, which laid a strong foundation for her work in economics, finance and journalism. She graduated from the University of Cambridge and the Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, then began her career in journalism at Canal Plus in France. Today, Asha is an entrepreneur, journalist, and television content producer, focused on African and global affairs.
You can follow her programs “Sustainable Energy”, on CNBC worldwide, and “Business Africa & Initiative Africa”, on major international channels in several countries in Europe and Africa. She is also the producer of these two weekly programs “Business Africa” and “Initiative Africa”, broadcast – both in French and in English – in around fifty countries, highlighting the economic and political news of the African continent.
She is also the Founder and News Editor of Africaon-Air, a bilingual pan-African news platform, that offers in-depth coverage of current events, innovation, and entrepreneurship across the continent. Beyond economics and finance, her work spans sustainability, politics, technology, education, and entrepreneurship.
Since 2024, Asha has served as an Ambassador for the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA), under the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III, championing a transition to a sustainable, inclusive bioeconomy.
In addition to her media work, she has taught at leading institutions like the National School of Administration (ENA), Sorbonne University, and EM Strasbourg, sharing her expertise with future leaders. Before diving into journalism and entrepreneurship, Asha explored the fashion industry, broadening her creative and business perspectives.
Today, she continues to blend her passions for storytelling, sustainability, and global change in all her endeavours.
