Professional skipper for over twenty years, Christopher Pratt has built a distinctive career in the demanding world of offshore racing. Inspired at a young age by Florence Arthaud’s victory aboard Pierre 1er in the 1990 Route du Rhum, he decided to dedicate his life to sailing at the highest level. French and European champion, and vice world champion in dinghy sailing at just 18, this Franco-British sailor based in Marseille quickly established himself on the international stage as an indispensable crew member.
Over the years, he has competed in the sport’s most prestigious events: the Solitaire du Figaro, the Tour de France à la Voile, the Transat Jacques Vabre, The Ocean Race and the Route du Rhum. He first made his mark with two crewed victories in the Tour de France à la Voile, before shining in the Figaro class, where in just two years he won two major competitions and claimed the Solitaire’s rookie (Bizuth) ranking. In 2010, he stepped into the spotlight as the youngest skipper in the IMOCA fleet in the Route du Rhum, delivering a widely noted performance. He went on to confirm his consistency at the highest level, securing four bronze medals in the Transat Jacques Vabre and a silver medal in The Ocean Race.
Alongside his sporting career, Christopher Pratt has spent more than fifteen years developing an entrepreneurial activity structured around performance in uncertain environments. Founder of MARSAIL in 2008, he combines his offshore experience with psychosociology and applied research on decision-making, commitment and motivation in extreme settings.
Through conferences, strategic advisory work and immersive programmes, he translates the lessons of offshore racing into operational business challenges: leadership under pressure, risk management, team cohesion and resilience. Actively involved in research on collective dynamics and sustainable performance, he embodies a rare dual expertise at the crossroads of sporting excellence and managerial innovation.
