Pierre has a creative mind, driven by a will to engage with society through art and science.
Continually motivated by his entrepreneur mindset, he created and ran an electronic music label for 6 years, and then founded Obvious in 2017 with two of his best friends. Obvious is a collective of researchers, artists, and friends.
His natural curiosity for science (biotechnologies, AI, astrophysics, …) allows him to turn ideas into impactful projects. An opportunity to militate for a derived and creative use of artificial intelligence, powered by a wish to promote an alternative use of technology: a benevolent and harmless one. The collective succeed in revealing and enhancing the notion of creativity in a machine, through a series of only AI generated artworks.
Obvious creates a mixture of technology and creativity in his artwork, pushing the limits of art as we know it. This is seen in the creation of the artwork “Edmond de Belamy”, sold in auction at Christie’s for nearly half a million dollars, and the creation of a series of Japanese prints revisiting the Ukiyo era.
Obvious works with the latest models of deep learning to explore the creative potential of artificial intelligence. They use their work to share their vision of artificial intelligence and its growing implementation in our society.
Their works have been exhibited in prestigious museums such as the Hermitage museum and the National Museum of China. The AI art movement keeps on developing, making AI more understood and appreciated around the world. Their astonishing journey and creative minds have resulted in them being recognised by Forbes under 30 and Time Genius Company.
Pierre and his collective have been mentioned in French media (Les Échos, France Info, France Culture, L’Obs, Le Monde, BFM TV…) and worldwide (CNBC, CNN, Time, FT, The Telegraph…).
