The New Tired for AI Leaders: A New Kind of Burnout is Coming
Sixty-five percent of executives say they fear falling behind on AI. Seventy-six percent of enterprises have initiated AI projects. Yet only eight percent are seeing measurable returns. The numbers tell the same story everywhere: the technology is being deployed, but the transformation is not landing.
What almost no one is addressing is why.
Organisations implemented AI as if it were a new IT tool, something to integrate, optimise around, and measure by traditional metrics. But AI is not an IT project. It is a fundamental shift in how decisions get made, how teams operate, and what leadership actually means when every employee has AI capabilities that rival entire departments. The executives in your audience already sense this. What most of them have not yet heard from anyone on stage is someone naming the real obstacle: that their leaders are burning out at the very moment the organisation needs them most, that the cultural change required to make AI work has barely begun, and that the instinct to wait is quietly becoming the most expensive decision in the room.
Thomas Anglero speaks to audiences that are past the hype and inside the hard part. His keynotes address three of the most urgent questions in AI leadership today:
How AI agents are fundamentally rewriting organisational structure, culture, and what it means to lead, and what the leaders in the room need to do about it.
Why the leaders who have embraced AI most deeply are experiencing a new and unspoken form of exhaustion that traditional leadership development never prepared anyone for.
Why the instinct to not be first, to wait, to observe, to let others go ahead, is the most expensive decision a leadership team can make.
Audiences walk away with a clear understanding of why AI has not delivered on its promise inside their organisation. Not because the technology failed, but because they implemented it without addressing the leadership, the culture, and the people driving it. They leave with concrete steps at the corporate level, the team level, and the personal level to lead differently in the age of AI.
Thomas has been inside three technology transformations before they became mainstream. In 1993, he was among the first people in the world to make a voice call over the internet. In 2014, he founded the IBM Watson AI Lab for Cancer at the Oslo Cancer Cluster, the first AI lab for cancer embedded within a dedicated European cancer research campus, where he built a $200 million pipeline. As Nordic CTO at Cognizant, he led AI strategy across the region and closed over $500 million in enterprise deals. He redesigned how Norway’s Tax Authority approaches technology-driven innovation. Today, his advisory work and his latest venture run entirely on AI agents.
He has delivered over 450 keynotes across more than 30 countries for organisations including IBM, Medtronic, the European Commission, the World Health Organisation, the World Government Summit, EY, and UNICEF. He publishes Clarity at the Top, a weekly newsletter and podcast for senior executives, and is the author of Intro to Artificial Intelligence.
